The Big Trip
When are we leaving?
  • We are flying out Dec. 28th and time is 7:00 am and 8:00. Information will be given at
    the parent-teen meeting

When are we returning?
  • We are returning on Jan. 2nd and time is not yet determined.

How are we getting to the airport?
  • We will need parents to volunteer to drive everyone to the airport.

How are we getting back to church?
  • We will need parents to volunteer to drive everyone home from the air port.

Which Airport?
  • WE are purchasing flights out of BWI

How much?
  • The cost for the trip is $700.00

What does the money go for?
  • The flight is $200.00
  • The Convention is $200.00
  • An amusement park and meals is $100.00
  • Some meals are included $80.00
  • Extra night at hotel is $100.00
Travel expenses while in Orlando is covered by Laurel Wesleyan Youth

How much more additional money will I need?
  • You will need spending money for some meals and souvenirs.
  • The convention suggests spending money around $180.00

Who is in a room?
  • There are three students and one adult per a room.

How are the rooming assignments made?
  • Students get to make request of who the want as their roommates.
  However, we try to grant requests but we cannot promise your request.

Who are the chaperoned?
  • Chaperoned are made of youth staff volunteers and parents.

How are we eating?
  • We will be providing breakfast in the hotel rooms from our rooms from our food account.
  • Sometimes we will pack meals and eat outside.
  • Sometimes we will eat fast food.
  • One time we eat at a nice restaurant. ($12)

Can my child take a cell phone?
  • Yes.
  • We request that they turn it off during the seminars and evening rallies

How do we keep the group together?
  • We always travel as a group.
  • Students are not allowed to run free in Florida.

What amusement park are we going to?
  • We are planning on going to Islands of Adventure.

WHAT DO I NEED TO PACK?
  • Bible
  • Notepad and Pen
  • Money
  • Clothes-pack some nice clothes for rallies, play clothes, you do not need dressy clothes
      -pack for warm days, but also pack a sweater/light jacket
      -bathing suit and beach towel
  • Shoes-comfortable for walking and flip-flops for the pool
  • Sunscreen
  • Medication-if you are on regular, please turn into RN Irene Whaley
  • Camera
  • Toiletries-soap, shampoo, toothpaste, toothbrush, deodorant, ect.
  • Pillow
  • Umbrella
  • fine point Sharpie- to get autographs from bands and speakers
  • Items to pass time-books/sudoko/ect.
  • Snacks and some bottled water (place in suitcase)
  • Electronic equipment-must be labeled and you are responsible for them
  can only be played during travel time/ at night in hotel room/free time.
  • Carry-on needs to be just a small book bag size
   this bag can also be carried to rallies with your bible, notebook, pen
   when packing your carry-on remember no liquids no sharp objects
   no fingernail clippers, pocket knives, ect.
